Mutombo seeking new teamAfter being dealt to Milwaukee in a mid-season blockbuster, Dikembe Mutombo found himself struggling to find the minutes he'd gotten in the first seven years in his career. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year was on a roster with the league's best center, Shaquille O'Neal, and averaged just 15.8 minutes per game in the 30 regular season games he played with the Bucks. A consummate professional, Mutombo accepted his diminished role in hopes of winning his first championship. Now that the off-season has rolled around, it appears as though he'd prefer to return to the role of starter. "It's a business," Mutombo told RealGM. "I was traded to a team with Shaq and I played my role, but nobody wants to come off the bench. There are no hard feelings from either side." The 33-year-old is entering the final year of his current contract, and would have the chance to handpick his next destination. By all indications, it doesn't seem like "Deke" wants to wait that extra year to play starter minutes again. The mid-season deal between Boston and Milwaukee that sent both Kenny Anderson and Dikembe Mutombo to the Bucks surely had a major impact on both teams involved. The move vaulted the Bucks, who went 23-7 with Mutombo and Anderson in tow, squarely into title contention. The Celtics, on the other hand, were able to plummet down the standings and secured the lottery odds necessary to land them the #1 draft pick this summer.
