It comes as no surprise with the price we paid for Shaq that we intend on him being the franchise cornerstone for the rest of his career. Shaq has brought this franchise up solely on his own shoulders, until the arrival of Kenny Anderson late last season. The intention will be to put Shaq and Kenny together for the rest of their playing days.
This is an early step for us, with Shaq still having 2 years left on his deal and us being unsure about the extension negotiations with Kenny that are ongoing, but we are optimistic we can get his deal done. With all that said, we would like to ink Shaq now so as to fully understand our future cap availability and to put the bigger picture in vision.
We would like to formally offer Shaq the 5 year, maximum salary contract extension, with the full 8% annual increase.

The most you can offer Shaq, who is NOT coming off his rookie contract, on an extension is: Year 1: $9,647,748 Year 2: $10,419,568 Year 3: $11,191,388 TOTAL: $31,258,704Proceeding with that contract... FBB Agent: Obviously, financially it makes no sense for Shaq -- arguably the best player in TSFBL -- to accept an extension and not hit the open market, where he'll be able to earn significantly more. When that time comes, we'll weigh our options and if the Bucks are still the best option for "The Big Diesel", he'll be happy to re-sign. Verdict: OFFER DECLINEDYou can consider this matter closed.
