Tracy has been a huge investment for us. Our confidence and value in him shouldn’t be in question after our trade last season. As we continue to build a foundation around him, we acknowledge that there may be another painful year or two ahead before we compete for titles. That said, Tracy is THE guy, and we know he’s still growing into a great player after completing his first season as a 20-something.
We’d like to further illustrate our confidence in him by offering a 5 year maximum salary contract right off the bat, before he reports to training camp. To help build a title contender through his prime, we would like to request however, that we run with a 0% increase deal. This should help him get paid above perceived market value earlier while leaving that little bit extra salary open later to build a title favorite for years to come.

FBB Agent: Thanks for your lucrative offer. While Tracy acknowledges the commitment the franchise has made to him, he rightfully views himself as one of the best young players in TSFBL. There were a few bumps in the road last year, obviously, but I'm sure we can agree that he wasn't necessarily put in the best position to thrive. I don't see any reason for Tracy to take a haircut off of what should be a full max deal. I don't think other franchises would have any problem giving him that money, and you shouldn't either. If you're willing to give him the full 8% raises right now, he'd be willing to forego the fifth-year player option that other young prospects have been getting. Verdict: OFFER COUNTEREDFeel free to accept, decline, or counter below.

Tracy, that’s more than fair. We were always willing to pay you what you deserve, but wanted to give you the chance to put this team in an even better position within the bounds of the salary landscape.
We’ll happily accept the 5 year max counter offer at a full 8% increase - and happily take avoid any player option drama in year 5.
