The Bucks are very pleased with the steps Rashard has taken as our third option behind the stars he's playing along side. To avoid bidding against the league in an RFA situation, we'd like to propose an offer that can both give Rashard a sizeable raise, while also offering a bit of financial flexibility to add around the core we've established as a perennial conference contender since adding Kenny Anderson to the team. After offering him the 4th year option at a 26.5% increase for this season, we'd like to offer approximately triple that increase for the next contract's starting wages.

4 years, $6,000,000 starting salary with an 8% increase, with a player option for the 4th year, would be our starting point to open up the negotiations to retain Rashard for the remainder of Shaq's time in Milwaukee at the least. Please consider this offer in good faith, understanding we would very much love to keep Lewis around while also adding financial leverage for future free agent acquisitions.

FBB Agent: This offer isn't even in the ballpark of something we'd accept. Rashard Lewis is an incredibly talented scorer who can play both forward positions, and he's only 22 years of age. Just because he's been willing to take a backseat to O'Neal and Anderson in the volume department doesn't mean he's willing to do it financially, as well.
