FBB Agent: We appreciate you admitting that you made a mistake in the off-season. Aaron has very much enjoyed his return to Vancouver, and the idea of retiring as the team's all-time leading scorer is something he's very interested in. Financially speaking, the most you can offer is $53.2 million over 4 years (120% of his current contract). Based on the way he's played this season, I don't see how he can't get a full 30% max on the open market -- which would be $76.3 million over 5 years if it came from you or $56.6 million 4 years from another team. With that said, it doesn't make financial sense to extend now and leave money on the table. These are negotiations that will have to be continued in the off-season.
