If the Trade Machine wasn't enough innovation for one league, I've also built a user platform to build a depth chart and check its legality against the vaunted Depth Chart Rules. The Depth Chart Builder has six tabs:
1) View Roster: See your team's full roster, including ratings.
2) Edit Roster: Add or subtract players from your roster based on transactions you've made that aren't yet reflected on the index.
3) Depth Chart: Set your team's depth chart.
4) IR: Set your team's injured reserve. All players selected in this tab will not be available for selection elsewhere on the depth chart.
5) Gameplan: Set your team's gameplan, including scoring options.
6) Output: Once everything has been set, click the Output button on the left to see how you did. If you have errors in your depth chart, a warning message will pop up. If your depth chart is error free, proceed to the Output tab where you can copy the depth chart output to paste in your team's thread.
If all this wasn't enough, there's also a button on the left to automate your depth chart. I'll warn you ahead of time, this functionality is meant to be simply and workable, and is in no way attempting to find an optimal depth chart for your team. It's always going to set a generic gameplan, including a Balanced focused, to reduce the number of things it has to check for. The idea here is that, so long as your roster is valid, it can give you a workable depth chart if you're in a pinch and don't have the time to craft one on your own.
Like the Trade Machine, the Depth Chart Builder is also eternally "in beta". This means that there's never going to be a final, declarative version that is sure to work perfectly. It's very possible the platform will tell you a depth chart is valid when in fact it is not, or vice versa. Do not look at this as a "gotcha" moment or a "be-all, end-all", but rather an opportunity to improve its capabilities going forward. At the end of the day, the correct logic will always be enforced, whether the Depth Chart Builder has it right or not.
I know for sure that it is not checking for Anti-Tanking Rules violations. I also think you need to reload the app if you plan on changing teams (not sure why anybody would be building depth charts for other teams, but just throwing it out there).
With all that said and without further ado, I present to you the Depth Chart Builder.
All issues and bug reports can be handled on Discord.
