The team has great need of your services and would like to approach about extending your contract that would see you retire in Philadelphia. Currently, you are our only expiring player and this makes for a difficult decision with our approaching the luxury tax. However, we have no intent to see you leave the team if we can avoid it. We wonder if you would be willing to take a slight reduction in your salary for next season as compared to this year's pay in exchange for a long term deal that would have you paid quite handsomely to finish out your career.
Our initial offer:
3 years extension, with team option for a 4th
Starting salary - $11,200,000, with 8% yearly increases.
This would see you paid $11.2m, $12.096m, $12.992m, with a team option for a 4th year at $13.888m for a total of just over $50,000,000. As the roster currently is constructed, you are promised no less than a 6th man role that we love to see you in. However, we can promise starter minutes with this role, or maneuver around getting you into the starting lineup with some trade opportunities this offseason.
