Blake, here in Memphis we love you and would like you to remain a Grizzly for the long haul. We would like to offer you a maximum 5 year contract extension, with 8% increases each year, and a player option in your final year. You’re our guy Blake and going forward we are pushing our chips in on you.

You’re our guy Blake and going forward we are pushing our chips in on you. FBB Agent: Thanks for opening up the negotiations. Obviously, this past year in Memphis was a pretty rocky one for all parties involved, but Blake is happy to have made the strides as a player and with the trust the organization has put into him. We'd like to counter by asking for the super-max provision to be put in his contract, which would bump him up to a 30% maximum contract if he manages to make an All-League team in 2012. If he didn't, it would default back to the contract you offered. He did not make it in 2011, so this could be seen as unlikely, but with another jump in production it's surely possible. With the projected cap figures for 2013, this would look like the following:
| 25% Max | 30% Super-Max | Year 1 | $16,798,750 | $20,158,500 | Year 2 | $18,142,650 | $21,771,180 | Year 3 | $19,486,550 | $23,383,860 | Year 4 | $20,830,450 | $24,996,540 | Year 5 (PO) | $22,174,350 | $26,609,220 | TOTAL | $97,432,750 | $116,919,300 |
Is this agreeable to you?
